Vergangenes Wochenende (06. bzw. 08. Februar 2010) verschafften sich Unbekannte Zugang zu insgesamt drei Geschäften einer Supermarktkette im Landkreis Ansbach. Die Polizei ist diesbzgl. auf der Suche nach Zeugen.

Zwischen Samstag und Montag (14.00 h bis 8.30 h) brachen die Täter in den Läden von Burgoberbach (Im Herrmannshof), in Wörnitz (Am Kreisel) sowie in Herrieden (Am Wasserturm) ein. In allen Fällen wurden von den Einbrechern die Tresore der Supermärkte geöffnet. Die Täter konnten auf diese Weise einige tausend Euro Bargeld erlangen. In Wörnitz wurden zudem Tabakwaren im Wert von nochmals einigen tausend Euro entwendet.

Hosting its exhibition 'Mental Images - Icons of Contemporary Germany History' until 11th October, the Haus der Geschichte is showing symbolic pictures until 11th October. In a "Newsroom", the organisers of the exhibition want visitors to experience how much images nowadays influence their thinking and actions. The attack on the World Trade Centre in New York with the powerful television pictures of the burning Twin Towers is shown in a life broadcast.

Karlsruhe/Germany - A large indoor Marihuana plantation has been discovered in Karlsruhe. According to information received on Wednesday, the police successfully raided a professionally operated cultivation area covering about 800 square metres. 3,500 plants were secured in the cellar of a house, among them seedlings as well as fully grown about one-metre high perennial plants.

According to the statement issued by the police, the investors had discovered the plantation within the scope of proceedings concerning the illegal growing and dealing with narcotics in the district of Groetzingen. Warrants were issued against a 45 year old man and two women aged 26 and 53. They can expect imprisonment lasting several years. According to the police, the market value of the plants is about Euro 150,000.

Five flats and buildings in the municipal and regional district of Karlsruhe as well as premises in Heilbronn were searched during a raid on Monday evening, during which the investigators also found the 20 x 40 metre large cellar, which the 45 year old man under arrest had allegedly enlarged and fitted out for quite some time. "The huge area was specifically separated by walls to accommodate the various growth stages of the plants", stated a spokesman of the police. The plants had been lit round the clock and regularly watered - and not just recently: the police also discovered several thousand old plants, which had been discarded.

The plantation will be harvested as early as Wednesday and then destroyed during the coming days, informed the police. The women and the man under arrest are behind bars in different prisons.

Bonndorf-Holzschlag, Black Forest, 10th March 2009

On Tuesday morning, a school bus full of children veered off the B 315 between Bonndorf and Lenzkirch in the district of Waldshut (Germany) and plunged six metres deep into a river bed, injuring 25 children. Four pupils sustained serious injuries and were admitted to hospital. According to the police their condition was not critical.

Igor Panarin predicts the USA will collapse soon: President Barack Obama would order martial law this year, ranted and raved the dean of the foreign affairs department at the Diplomacy Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry at a lecture in Moscow. In his opinion the USA would split into six rump-states before 2011, and Russia and China would the backbones of a new world order: "A collapse of Russia would not happen."

Exclusive pictures of a maltreated safe, which safe crackers didn’t manage to break open despite giving it their all!

In September 2008, safe crackers tried to break into a firmly anchored safe, weighing 500 kg at a public authority in Hessen (Germany). They drilled, they bent, they tried to force it apart - to no avail - the safe remained closed! The culprits wanted to nick official stamps and documents, but had to flee empty-handed. To this day there is no clue as to their whereabouts. As of now, the released and exclusive pictures of the destruction can be seen in this blog. The holes, by the way, have been made by diamond core drills, a single one of which costs a cool ca. US$ 25,000.
